Showdown

You earn your spot for the Showdown race. You can’t enter for this race.
Race and finish your triathlon. Then sit back and relax while we check the 10 fastest individual finisher times for the Super standard triathlon, standard triathlon and sprint triathlon (combined males and females across all waves for a total of 30 athletes. If the Super standard triathlon doesn’t have enough athletes to pick the 10 fastest times from, more athletes will be chosen from the Standard triathlon finish times). KINDLY NOTE: no team times will be considered for this race. No athletes racing in the super sprint race will be considered for this race.

These 30 athletes will race once more to determine the winner of the day in a super sprint race:
400m swim
10km bike
2.5km run

There are 9 prizes up for grabs (as determined by the Showdown final race times):
Top 3 swim times
Top 3 bike times
Top 3 run times

Want to win more prizes? Then earn more top 3 times in Showdown!

Example: the race winner had a top 3 swim time and top 3 bike time and thus wins 2 prizes.

Time trial (TT) bicycles and drafting:

Super standard triathlon & Standard triathlon
Time trial bicycles (TT bicycles) are allowed (this includes clip-on bars and bicycles with integrated aero bars).
Drafting is not allowed, meaning you are not allowed to draft behind the person in front of you.

Sprint triathlon & Super sprint triathlon
Time trial bicycles (TT bicycles) are not allowed (this includes clip-on bars and bicycles with integrated aero bars).
The only types of bicycles allowed are standard road bicycles and standard mountain bikes.
Drafting is allowed, meaning you are allowed to draft behind the person in front of you.

Wetsuits

A wetsuit ruling will be made by the race referee on race morning, in accordance with ITU rules. Historically wetsuits were allowed but not compulsory. If the ambient air temperature combined with water temperature is too high wetsuits may not be allowed. A decision on this will, however, only be made on race morning.
